Despite my apparent lack of motivation to write today (sorry), I feel that I need to say something about the passing of Pennsylvania Representative John P. Murtha.
If you peruse all of the things that I have previously posted about Mr. Murtha, you might say that I didn't view his service in Congress with any rose-colored lenses. There was much about Murtha's actions, both in and out of Congress, that I considered questionable.
However, because of his service to our country as an elected official, but more importantly as a Marine, I think that Jack Murtha's career is to be remembered with respect.
I'm not saying that I agree with everything that Jack Murtha has ever said or done -- all I am saying is that the guy dedicated his life to serving our country, and that is to be commended.
