Family Guy - Fair and Balanced?

To no surprise...Seth McFarlane's Family Guy had a war on Fox News tonight. This is the same show who labeled John McCain...yes that same John McCain who fought for his country in Vietnam...a supporter of the Nazi regime.

Tonight though...the entire 1/2 hour just blasted the FNC.

"They are a lie factory and report whatever they damn well please"

"Working for Fox News is selling your soul"

Ann Coulter opened up her legs and was the "fridge" to which a man replies "there's never anything good in here".

Now here's my question though - how does the FOX network let a show like Family Guy blast it's news network...are they not related whatsoever? And...I just love the war on news. How shameful is it that our "news" networks are a culture war between conservatives and liberals? I hate watching MSNBC because it has a left leaning tilt...and 95% of the readers of this blog hate Fox News because you feel it has a right leaning tilt. It's sad really.

Sounds like a good episode of Family Guy, I should have tuned in. I'll have to stream it later.

As far as me hating Fox News. I don't hate it because it has a right leaning political view. I hate it because of the people on it and their asshatery.

Ummm... Family Guy doesn't claim to be Fair and Balanced, unlike Fox News.

I know Vast...I simply made that the title of my blog. I didnt say Family Guy was Fair and Balanced.

A couple of things here Diddy...

1: Fox News and the Fox Network are indeed related. However, as with any business, money rules all. So, when Family Guy gets HUMONGOUS ratings and sells a crapload of advertising dollars, the big-wigs aren't going to care who gets trashed, as long as the money continues to roll into the coffers.

2: Ann Coulter ≠ Fox News... or am I mistaken?

3: I do not dislike Fox News because they 'lean' rightward (understatement). I dislike the network because, as Vast so rightly pointed out, they claim to be 'fair and balanced' and are no such thing. I would have zero complaint against FNC if they didn't use the 'fair and balanced' slogan -- or were actually fair and balanced in their coverage.

and lastly...

4: Family Guy is a comedy show... so... grain of salt and all of that.

With that, I'm going to bed.

Here is a question? If Murdoc (or however you spell his name) thought he could make money with liberal shows how fast do you think he would change the network?

The folks running Fox and MSNBC don't care about the line up, they care about the money.

Rupert Murdoch recently rewarded Seth McFalane
with a 100-million dollar contract and a third
prime-time series. The reason, of course, is that
Family Guy is a gold mine for News Corp. It makes
money from advertising, syndication, DVD sales, and merchadising. And you wonder why Murdoch "allows" Family Guy to do what it does?
