An Open Letter To Journalists Re: Sarah Palin

From Mikey at TheAmericanBoy:

An Open Letter To All Journalists
Dear Sirs, For the love of god and all things holy, please stop covering Sarah Palin. Each time I think it’s over, each time I think she’ll be gone for good, in a way that even Jesus would be jealous of, you raise her from the dead. I’ll be the first to admit, her Brittney-esque rise from oblivion to publicly stumble aimlessly through a world her brain was never designed to think upon, was great, but it’s just not funny anymore. Your ratings are good; you have lots of stuff to talk about. There is no reason to give this woman another minute of national airtime.
Me? I'm torn. While I am tired of hearing about the latest debacle that the Sarah Bara-cougar has gotten into, it's still somewhat interesting to write about her. Hell, I'm blogging about her right now... what does that say about me?

Yeah... not good.

This space is designed for thoughtful commentary on politics and media (and whatever else comes to mind). The Pajama Pundit welcomes people from all political stripes to voice opinions freely and without fear of mean-spirited attacks. He does however expect intelligent discussion -- and some understanding of proper grammar usage.

For a more detailed look at commenting, please review our Comment Policy.

Please refrain from personal attacks on authors or other users. Back up your argument with documentation (links to elsewhere on the web). This is a big sandbox -- so please play nicely with one another.

You blog about her because you know that it will attract hits to your pathetic ramblings.

Why don't you try writing about how Palin is cutting her state budget in response to lower oil prices, or how she was smart enough to forward fund education, and put $7 billion into savings instead of going on a spending spree like the democrats wanted her to. You might try to write something about her opposition to the massive spending because it will inflict unfunded mandates on the states once the federal dollars dry up. How about covering the $500 million deal with the Canadians to build a natural gas pipeline to the lower 48, and her efforts to get an in-state pipeline to Alaskan cities, thereby reducing the cost of their energy. How about the windfarm projects which has not only generated electricity, but actual jobs as well.

I guess that would be too hard, instead you just want to make stupid remarks which require no thought process.

While we clearly have differing ideas on what 'pathetic ramblings' are, I appreciate you stopping by and offering your opinion Greg.

I'd like to note that the bulk of this post was composed by a blogger at a different site. While I have made it clear that I am no fan of Sarah Palin's, the 'open letter' is not my original work.

Though I doubt you will, I hope you'll continue to drop in and leave comments. One of the primary objectives of this site is to encourage expression of views from varying positions -- without attacking individuals.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sarah Palin is here to stay and the more you blog about her whether it be negative or positive the more popular she becomes. The bashers do not matter as they would not vote for her anyhow and they just rally her supporters so keep up the good work.

ppl write and talk about her bc she is more than your idiotic smears and trying-hard-to-be-witty comments . she does things, real thing , has a record of real accomplishments ( how about cutting half billion from budget this week ). and is well grounded in american reality.

you obviously have no value for those type of real things . all you have ears for is smears going around in the closed cocoon of liberal media spin world . rot there please.

I'm getting mighty tired of the insults.

You can very easily disagree with me and not call my ideas 'idiotic smears' or accuse me of having no values 'grounded in American reality'. You know nothing of me, save for what I write here, and is clear to me -- since you claim that I'm a liberal -- that you have not delved very far into the archives.

My point is this: attacking my opinion is just fine. You can debate my ideas with substantive arguments and I will be happy to have that discussion. When you start to call me (or anyone else here) names and question my values, you are out of line.

We try to have a civilized discourse at this blog, otherwise we are no better than all of the other wind-tunnels-of-vitriol out there on the Internet.

Thanks for reading.

Pajama Pundit, I have to ask, why aren't you a fan over the Governor's?

I mean what is the specific gripe?

I get that you are using someone elses comments to supplement your own, but just why do you think:

"her Brittney-esque rise from oblivion to publicly stumble aimlessly through a world her brain was never designed to think upon,"

Do you hate all women, or just her?

Do you even know anything about Governor Palin's record of accomplishment?

Let me submit that you cannot be a wildly popular Governor of any state and be stupid.

Let me clue you in on some facts.

Governor Plain has the highest popularity of any Governor in America. She is a recognized authority on energy issues, having run the largest oil and gas regulator agency of it's kind.

She is also a tough reformer that when push came to shove, took down the entire leadership of the Alaskan Republican party, INCLUDING the sitting Republican Governor!

Too bad Mr Obama hasn't taken lessons from HER! He's averaging about two scandals out of his hometown a day, right? How about all of those corrupt cabinet picks?

As for Governor Palin, she had MORE experience than Barack Obama has NOW 10 years ago!

Governor Palin NOW, has more experience as a chief executive, than Bill Clinton did when he walked into the White House for the first time in 1993.

For one, her state budget is a little over three times that of Bill Clinton's Arkansas.

And Arkansas doesn't have much foreign trade. Alaska is a huge exporter, and Governor Palin has worked on many foreign trade deals.

Sarah Palin is the only governor in any of the 50 states who knows how to compute the Net Present Value of Cash Flow and relate it to a state's budget, and she doesn't even have an MBA.

She is the only governor in the union who had the foresight to save some of the state's money, and cut spending!

And her state's budget is 90% derived from volatile oil revenues. Meanwhile, most over governors preside over horrific deficits and have stable tax bases.

Alaska has no state income, or sales tax.

Everyone knows that Governor Palin started out as a PTA mom. Typical story. She just wanted to take an active role in her kid's education. At some point, she was convinced to run for a city council seat, which she did, and won.

Then, Sarah ran for, and became Mayor of Wasilla. After two terms, she was term limited out. (something the US Congress needs, badly)

During her time as Governor, she was President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.

Governor Palin then made a run at Lt Governor, but lost.

She was then selected as Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. The AOGCC is the largest regulatory body of it's kind in the nation. It regulates oil and natural gas production. handles leasing issues, environmental issues, and the like.

Governor Palin took a keen interest in ethics. Lots of issues both in the business, and her agency. It's a well known fact she cleaned house. But she also stood toe to toe with top executives from Exxon-Mobil, Conoco-Phillips, and BP. She helped change the relationship between the companies, and the state, for the better.

Kay Cashman's book: "Sarah Takes On Big Oil" is a must read. It tells you all about it. You can read some of it at www.petroleumnews.com

Inside the commission, there were issues as well. A quick trip to Wikipedia will give you more details, but both the Chairman of the Republican party, as well as the former Republican Attorney General were involved in some questionable deals.

Both were forced to resign, not only from the commission, but from the party. The Chairman was hit with the largest fine of it's kind, in the state's history.

Sarah Became Governor by taking down Murkowski by a landslide in the primary, and beating a former democrat Governor in the general election, also by a wide margin.

In addition to being Governor, Palin serves as Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multi-state government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment.

Governor Palin is also the Chairman of the National Governors Association's Natural Resources Committee. Voted in by the other 49 Governors.

Governor Palin is also the Vice-Chairman of the National Republican Governors Association.

Something else that people overlook, and this is key: Governor Palin is Commander-in-Chief of the only National Guard that is on permanent deployment.

The 176th Wing, of the Alaska Air National Guard train with and is part of the United States Air Force. They are vital to our air defenses, and are the first line of defense should Russia, North Korea, or China decide they want to become aggressive.

Sarah has shared strategic command over the 49th Missile Defense Battalion.

The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism.

As Governor Palin's position as CIC is rather unique, she has a rather high national security clearance as well. Something neither Obama nor Biden had prior to their win.

She's also the Commander-In-Chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Sarah Palin was the only candidate running in the general election that had any sort of executive experience. She's the only one who had ever had to sit and make hard decisions. To actually run a state, balance a budget, deal with ethics issues, and so forth.

Governor Palin also has extensive foreign trade experience. Governors, that have something to export, routinely meet with foreign heads of state and work on extensive trade agreements. Again, something Obama and Biden have zero experience at.

Governor Palin recently hosted a delegation from nations that are direct trading partners with Alaska, including Sergey Kislyak is the newly appointed ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United States, who said:

“I am so pleased to be here this weekend. “As discussed in my meeting with Governor Palin, it is encouraging to note the similarities between Alaska and the Russian Far East. Our EXISTING commercial connections and the mutually beneficial nature of our professional partnerships can only help provide a measure of stability as, together, we face the global economic challenges that lie ahead”

Also at the meeting were Consuls General from the Russian Federation, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Hungary, Norway, South Korea, The Philippines, as well as representatives from Canada and China.

"Members of the Alaska consular corps also participated, including: Karen Matthias, of Canada; Hideo Fujita, of Japan; Hee-chul Kim, of South Korea; and Jose Luis Cuevas, of Mexico. They were joined by honorary consuls of the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Seychelles, and Norway"

Now, this is what Governors, who are the CEOs of their state, do on a fairly regular basis.

In fact, in this one meeting alone, Governor Palin did more actual foreign trade policy work than Barrack Obama has done in his entire life!

Governor Palin just signed the license to build the TransCanada natural gas pipeline. Something Alaska has been trying to do for 50 years.

She went in, cleaned up the process and got it done. This is the largest infrastructure project in history.

Environmentalists love this.

Alaska is sitting on 400 TRILLION cubic feet of natural gas. That is more than all of the world's oil reserves!

And natural gas is the cleanest burning fuel there is. It's almost zero emissions.

Even better, every major car manufacturer makes cars that burn compressed natural gas, and have for decades.

There are millions of trucks, cars, and buses in use daily.

While every other politician TALKS a good game, Governor Palin just put the wheels in motion to make the United States completely energy independent, as well as clean and green!

Just a few weeks ago, Governor Palin announced that Alaska will not only meet the plan Mr Obama has for renewable energy, she will DOUBLE it!

Obama wants to see America get 25 percent of it's energy from renewable resources. well, Alaska already gets 25 percent of it's energy from renewables! So, she has pledged to have Alaska get 50 percent of it's energy from renewables by 2025.

She came from a middle class background, and knows what Americans face on a daily basis.

She and her husband, Todd still own a small commercial fishing business. The season is quite short. But as time permits, you'll see her out there working the nets with the men. She'll bring in those big fish with the best of them.

Once, she even refused to take it easy after her fingers were crushed in an accident when two boats collided. She went to the doctor and was back at it the same day.

She knows exactly what hard work looks like, and isn't afraid to take refresher courses from time to time!

This is a woman who knows what she is doing.

Just today, she announced that she is fining Exxon/Mobil for non-performance of leases. Not only is Alaska canceling these leases, Exxon/Mobil is being fined $20 million dollars, because they purchased the long term leases, but failed to develop them.

The Governor is an energy hawk, and is EXACTLY who we need to get us energy independent.

We stupidly send about $1 trillion dollars overseas every single year, much of it to places that hate us, because we will NOT develop our own abundant energy resources.

This crap sandwich, porkulus bill, which won't create job one, is a joke. On the other hand, if that money was directed straight into energy exploration. Building new refineries, exploring, and using the incredible amounts of natural gas we have, which is CLEAN BURNING,as well as using our coal, and building nuclear energy plants, we could employ millions, with good paying jobs.

But that won't ever happen, and we will never have energy independence unless we get Sarah Palin in office.

Something else, Governor Palin is a fiscal conservative. While every other state is basically bankrupt, she has billions in reserve. Heck, the Alaskan legislature just passed a $25,000 pay raise for her, and she turned it DOWN!

Her and her husband aren't rich, either. They are just middle class.

This is exactly why 60 millions of people voted for her in the 2008 election. Most did not vote for McCain. Governor Palin was the fuse that lit a fire under Republicans.

That fire is now burning hot. Sarah Palin is the Ronald Reagan of our time. Like Reagan, she understands that America's best days are ahead of her. She understands that America is the world's last best hope. That America is a shining city on a hill.

This is why she is in the press, and why she won't be going away any time soon.

Her popularity only grows.

Now, if you have a substantiate argument with her policies, I can respect that, but all calling her stupid does is make you look ignorant, and small.

Governor Palin may be a lot of things, but dumb isn't one of them!

I look forward to further debate.

So why can't she answer a simple question such as "What newspapers do you read?" It wasn't a gotcha question, and it wasn't meant to try to poke fun at her folksy nature. It was a simple question.

I have issues with her stance on aerial hunting, abortion, and gay rights.

Apparently vast has no knowledge of wildlife cullling or big predators and how they can cause the extinction of their prey. Sad they he also would rather kill unborn babies than wolves and who really cares about gay rights so you cannot get married big deal. and as for the pajama pundit do you know Sarah enough not to insult her. You are hypocrite for responding to a comment on the same question we ask you of Sarah. Our numbers grow every day for her

Vast - The "newspaper" question most certainly WAS a poke at her and she didn't like it. And as for "gay rights" I'm sure you're referring to gay marriage since that was the hot topic during the election. How pleased are you then with BO? He CLAIMS to have the same position as Palin does yet the msm had no problem giving him a pass on it. What say you?

Oh, admit it Pajama dude, you can't get enough of her either...;-)

Palin 2012!

Is this your few minutes in the light? Get a life and find someone else to write about if you don't like Sarah Palin. I love to read about Sarah Palin and it seems like ALL I see is about Obama, Obama, Obama. When can we stop seeing his face EVERYWHERE?

self styled Pajama Pundit,
when a person so obviously rely on smears to attack the gov palin ( as you do ) instead of looking at reality and facts he/she deserves all the "insults" (in fact reasonable deductions) he gets .
and yes you do not live in reality if you do not get the last sentence or this reaction n general .
and liberal to boot, for believing liberal smears .
so rot in in your self made cocoon with Vast !

I know that there are many more appropriate ways to cull wildlife. We deal with our own wildlife issues here in Iowa by increasing the numbers of available hunting licenses for certain species. And before you tell me I know nothing of how it works in Alaska, I did live up there for a time.

As for killing unborn babies, if I was in that situation I would want the baby to be born, but I don't have the right to make that decision for other people.

Not being allowed to get married is a fairly big deal to me as it currently means I have no rights when it comes to the well being and support of both myself and my partner.

Pajama Pundit - Thanks for bringing Governor Palin up again. Attitudes like this are only going to serve to broaden her appeal since fair minded, decent people quickly tire of baseless attacks against a very kind-hearted, gracious woman who has accomplished so much without riding her husband's coat tails or relying on government handouts.

Vast - you didn't respond to my question about BO and HIS stance on gay marriage. Did you vote for "That One". If so, how do you reconcile that?

My disappointment with Obama's stance on gay marriage does not out way my support for him in other areas. There are differences between Palin and Obama on Gay Rights. Obama has said that he wants to repeal DOMA, which even the person who wrote DOMA agrees that with.

Vast - I'm sure you meant to say "out WEIGH" but the facts are the facts. BO said numerous times during the campaign that he did NOT support gay marriage and yet you and so many others on the left gave him a pass on it while using it as a charge against Governor Palin. You're a hypocrite.

I've been fighting a hefty cold since last night so yeah, my spelling is a tad more off than normal.

I wouldn't know about your spelling Vast. This is my first trip to this site. As for the info on BO - how do you reconcile the 1st one "opposing prop 8" and the 3rd one "states should decide"?? All the rest of them just look like mindless blather.

Vast says:

I have issues with her stance on aerial hunting, abortion, and gay rights.

________________________________________________

Lets see, I guess you have no problem with the wolves slaughtering the entire wildlife heard, do you?

Wolves are very efficient killers. They track wildlife, and people, and then attack as a pack.

Have you ever seen what a pack of wolves do, BTW? They will go in, and rip a herd of animals apart. They may, or may NOT eat all of the meat.

And in your Iowa, these wolves have almost wiped your heard out.

That ALMOST happened in Alaska, as well.

Now REMEMBER, this was policy LONG before Governor Palin was elected to that post.

As for Abortion, you are worried about 143 wolves a year, which is the average since this program started.

And yet, 1.5 MILLION human babies are murdered each year in a barbaric, sub-human practice, and no worries.

And you wonder why liberals are universally hated.

You folks will stand in the pouring rain, and hold candle light vigils for rapists, murderers, child molesters, and so on, while they shove the needle in their arm.

You loons piss and moan because the terrorists at Gitmo don't have a good concierge service.

But not a peep out of you about 1.5 million humans who a slaughtered each year because of your godless, soulless ways.

Pathetic.

Now, as for gay rights, again, you show how stupid you are.

Her stance is mainstream. Gays are not going to get to marry across America anytime soon.

BUT, Governor Palin DID veto a bill in Alaska that would have denied them any rights at all.

That doesn't sound anti-gay to me.

No, you are another one of the liberal lemmings who read something somewhere, without having the good sense to check it out, and just spread it around.

Stupid.

Mr. Pundit,

You overstated Sarah Palin's this situation when you called it a 'tax debacle."

Sarah Palin asked for a review to determine whether her per diem that was allowed to her was taxable. Due to the review the state of Alaska is sending her a revised W-2. Taxesa re due on April 15th.

I just thought you would like to know.

I don't reconcile them. I agree with him on the first one, but I disagree with him on the third one. I believe that leaving it up to the states is part of the problem. The Civil Rights movement stalled out for nearly 100 years after the civil war because it was left up to the states. It wasn't until the Federal Government stepped in that real progress was made and it has taken us almost another 50 years to finally get a sense that we have come to terms with African American equality.

You just don't get it.To millions of Americans Sarah Palin is 'one-of-us'.Honest;Hard-working;Loves her husband/family;Pays her mortgage and her taxes; She's what I want my own daughter to aspire to be..She ISN'T going away, because she symbolizes the good in us.I look at Sarah Palin and I feel good about my country

Vast I believe they have hunts in all the state parks it is just because of Sarah you heard about the aerial hunting. Maybe if people quit talking about civil rights it would not be an issue. Aren't we all Americans. And as for the abortion issue are you not being a hypocrit by saying you would not have one but okay for someone else.Should we not be allowed to have our own thoughts and not have someone tear us apart about it. It should be no different she just does not believe. And as for gay marriage is that the only right you are talking about. I agree with unions but stop at marriage other than that you have the same rights as every other American.

Wolves:

Yes I have seen what they can do, having grew up on a farm in southern Iowa. I have seen what they can do to cow. I can and do support the culling of wolves to control overpopulation, even though Iowa has killed so many wolves over the years that now one of our worst wildlife issues is the an overpopulation of dear. I do not however agree with or condone the practice of hunting from an airplane or helicopter. The argument that "The previous governor did it then it must be all right for me." seems a tad odd, especially after the Blago fiasco.

Palin's stance on Gay Marriage:

This is from a christian blog.

http://blog.christianitytoday.com/ctpolitics/2008/10/palin_supports.html

"Sarah Palin expressed support for a Constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman, the opposite of the stance her running mate takes."

And no I am not a liberal lemming. I form my own opinions.

No I don't believe I am being a hypocrite about abortion, because in that instance I'm making a choice. My choice is life, but who am I to say that everyone has to make that same choice.

I don't have a big issue over calling it marriage or a civil union if the rights, benefits, and responsibilities are the same. Currently, in every state that only grants civil unions they are not.

For example, here in Iowa, if my partner gets sick, I have no visitation rights because I'm not considered family. I have no right to have any input into how his medical care is handled. On the other end of it, if I were to die, even with a will, my family could force him out of the home we live in because it is currently only in my name and there are no inheritance rights for him.

Well I need to go get some supper and take some more cold medicine. Thank you Anonymous for a lively civil debate, and thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back again.

WOW.

I step out of Pajama World Headquarters to make some dinner for my kids and I come back to THIS!

Interesting.

First order of business, I'd like to welcome all of the new readers joining us from TeamSarah.org. I thank you for stopping and would encourage you to express your opinions. I only ask that you try to keep it civil.

@Gary --
1. I don't hate Sarah Palin and I never said/wrote anything to that effect.
2. I highlighted the thoughts of another blogger -- whom I think is a good writer -- but that does not necessarily mean that I agree with everything that he says.
3. I never called Governor Palin 'dumb' or 'stupid' and would never do such a thing. Simply because I disagree with a politician on one issue or another does not give me license to go around throwing insults at them, or their supporters.
4. You clearly took some time to copy/paste that list of talking-points into the comment section here, and unfortunately I don't have time to respond to each and every one. However, I will say this much:

Sarah Palin is likely a very bright woman. I don't know this for a fact, because I've never met her. Unfortunately for her, she has not had much success with shaping a positive image of herself in the national media. As I live in the 'T' of Pennsylvania, the only knowledge that I have of the governor comes from Drudge, Politico and cable news.

You can blame the McCain campaign. You can blame the media. The bottom line is that when Mrs. Palin stepped up to the microphone and said things like 'Obama is pallin' around with terrorists', I was appalled. When she could not name ONE instance in which John McCain fought for more regulation, I was appalled.

I know that my opinion will not matter to you, as I've read what you have said on other websites. But in closing I will say this: If someone does not agree with Barack Obama, they are not necessarily a conservative. Conversely, I do not see myself as a liberal simply because I do not have an affinity for Sarah Palin.

@Anonymous (at 17:51 #2) -- Your incoherent rambling barely makes sense, at best. I can't reason with someone who writes that way. But, thanks for stopping by!

@Paul -- I didn't say 'tax debacle', I said 'latest debacle' -- but your point is well-taken. I think that I did overstate it.

@Anonymous (at 18:30) -- You are correct. Sarah Palin is a great example for young women all over our country to emulate. Nobody has argued anything otherwise.

Thanks to all for reading and expressing your opinions!

Obviously the other blogger you quoted was incorrect about media outlets. The fact is the media bias has caused them viewership and readership. THEY NEED Palin because they know she draws in interest from both sides of the aisle, as well as all voters.

The media also has an agenda.

99.95% of what was posted was a lie. But oh well. It's their story and they stick to it... who am I to argue... lol No sense in it..as you see these good conservative people just get nasty and mouthy when you attack or what they perceive as an attack their Sarah..yet they say that the Dems put Pres. Obama on a pedestal...
As I have said before I know he has feet of clay and am not afraid to call him and have done so.. and will do so again.. but don't you dare do it to her.

Pajamapundit:

You can whine all you want re Gov Palin to try to get more traffic here but your MO is clear to anyone who has read your ramblings.

1. It's obvious you're terrified of her ( most LiEberals are)

2. You claimed that you were appalled when "Palin said things like 'Obama is pallin' around with terrorists'"

In other words you were appalled that Gov Palim spoke the TRUTH about your Messiah BO Hussein and EXPOSED him for who he was.

Of course BO HUSSEIN was pallin' around with terrorists - Bill Ayers and Khalid ( the palestine terrorist) just to name a few. But YOU knew that already!!

I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a down to earth good person and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life..

Sarah 2012

**Unfortunately for her, she has not had much success with shaping a positive image of herself in the national media.*** so says PajamaPundit

ROTFLMAO - only in your wet dreams! You should find a willing and able amen corner at the HuffeePost, MoveIt.Ogre, or the Dilly Dally.KOS——pick your poison.
The latest Rasmussen Poll shows that Palin favorabiilty rating is now 52 percent, a gain of 3 percent since the election.
She made big gains among independent voters. Another poll found that well over half of Republicans want the party to be more like Sarah Palin. Zogby poll shows Sarah as the TOP 2012 Contender.

FYI the pro Palin movement is rapidly growing and by the time 2012 comes around, will be formidable.

In case you haven’t noticed and living on another planet, one of her greatest strengths is that she has an uncanny ability to CONNECT with the AMERICAN people.

Sarah Palin continues to dominate search engine queries, cable news and online video sites.

Even during the Election, people turned up in record numbers - as much as 80,000 plus to see her despite the fleeting snow and horrible weather conditions.

But if you are under Messiah BO spell, you wouldn’t have noticed it.

RNC committeeman Morton Blackwell thinks Palin is the most exciting conservative politician since Reagan. He raves about her. His specific words in a late Oct. NYT article, "She's dynamite".

Blackwell was the youngest delegate to the Goldwater convention in '64, served in the Reagan White House and has trained thousands of young people at his Conservative Leadership Institute. His opinion means something, at least to me.

Human Events named Palin as “Conservative of the Year”

Sarah 2012

@Anonymous (both 22:16 and 22:36) --

Do you guys read? Honestly?

If you had looked elsewhere on this blog, you would find that I welcome the opinions of others. A very good friend of mine, and contributor to this website was (and still is) a hardcore supporter of John McCain and Sarah Palin. I would never talk to him the way that you are writing about me. I would never talk to a Sarah Palin supporter (that's you) the way that you are writing about me.

Hell, I have even praised Newt Gingrich and offered my advice for the conservative movement and the Republican party.

My interest in politics knows no political party.

But oh no -- I must be a... what was it Anon 22:16? A 'LiEberal'? Oh, that's rich.

And Anonymous at 22:36, I do read the Huffington Post. Everyday. I read it right after I'm done reading Townhall. And Drudge. And Instapundit. And HotAir. But you didn't know that because you obviously didn't care to check out the sidebar where it says 'Daily Read'. I read everything regardless of political bend. It's called being well-rounded.

Honestly people. If you are going to come at me with criticism, it would greatly help your cause if you had some ammunition. baseless character attacks are simply lame.

Gee, I thought trolls went out of style in the 80s...

Hopefully the 10 other people at "TeamSarah.org" are more intelligent and coherent than the few that have opted to post here thus far.

It's great that there are people with differing opinions finding this blog, but you don't do anyone any favors when you come here calling people stupid when you can't even get the talking points down right.

If "TeamSarah" gets their way and puts Palin up against Obama in 2012, I might as well go ahead and call my Congressman to get tickets for a second Obama inauguration now.

It ain't happenin', folks.

Though I'm sure she's glad she's got you on her team, also. You betcha.

A day with the family and I come back to an attack of the Sarah trolls.

Take it from a troll, you guys fail.

What a Friday night! So many things said in so many, um, choice, ways. Among the many main points I would like to make, two really rise to the top.

First, to the new commenters - welcome. :) It's always nice to see some new faces, so to speak. New voice bring new energy to any forum.

Second, I can tell you folks have some pretty strong feelings about Gov. Palin. Good for you. I certainly do not share your enthusiasm for her. And that's okay. We all have differing opinions. We are allowed to have strongly differing opinions and still be patriotic Americans. There are no "good" Americans or "bad" Americans in this land of ideas, but a collection of Americans.

However, I must say that your expressions don't really do you, or Gov. Palin, justice. Ad hominems, slurs, correlation = causation, straw men, slippery slopes, and ad-hoc reasoning do not produce a valid argument. Every response was focused around one or more of these logical fallacies. Now, if what you were really writing was to be taken as sarcasm or satire; my apologies (I admit I can get pretty sarcastic and rash in some of my posts, but I'd like to think I know when I've crossed a line or it's not effective and it can be hard to detect online). If it's not sarcasm or satire, then I strongly suggest you brush up on your formal logic and debating skills. A lot. Really. A whole f^cking lot.

You see, folks, passionate as you may be about Gov. Palin, your commenting today has created far more negative connotations about her and her supporters than I think you realize. The demonstrative tone and fallaciously framed posts are quite damaging to your credibility. If you wish you gather support for the values, decisions, and vision you see in her then you need to change your argumentative tactics.

In my opinion, if there is one over-ridding theme to the 2008 election it is that polemic, cankerous, partisan politics are not very welcome in this country anymore. We've had over a quarter of a century with this atmosphere and it's not working. Apply some critical thinking to your approach and explore how you can improve your dialog with others. When you do, I'll be very happy to discuss policy matters and political banter with you. I always enjoy a good debate.

Hear, hear! Couldn't have said it better myself, Eric.

Pajama Pundit:

Please, don't insult your reader's intelligence.

If posting:

"her Brittney-esque rise from oblivion to publicly stumble aimlessly through a world her brain was never designed to think upon,"

Doesn't mean you think she is stupid (to you) then you have issues.

As far as talking points, OK, guilty. Those talking points, however, are MY talking points, gleaned from various blog entries that I, as in MYSELF have written.

You see, I have been following Governor Palin for years. I know what she does, and what she is capable of.

It's funny, to me, that you don't like the fact that I used "talking points" (my very own) but yet, the basic meat of your blog is just copy and pasting someone else's hateful blog rant.

I'm not knockin' ya man. I often borrow some things to, and credit the source. But it seems strange you'd knock me, for stealin' my own words!

As far as the pallin' around with terrorists statement, well, it was TRUE.

The problem with the weak ass McCain campaign, is they should have hit Obama with this the day he became the nominee, and pounded it home every day. By the time Palin said to hell with this, and went after him, it was too late.

William Ayers isn't your run of the mill protester, either. He is a home grown terrorist who murdered Americans.

Ayers founded a violent group called the Weather Underground. These terrorists bombed the United States Capital, the Pentagon, and NYC police headquarters.

The Weather Underground murdered, or attempted to murder many. In fact, Ayers' first wife was killed, along with two other Weather Underground members, when a bomb, loaded with roofing nails exploded when they were building it.

Bill Ayers' second wife (his present) Bernadine Dohrn, was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List, and is a convicted felon. She was convicted for murdering a police officer, and two security guards, during a failed attempt at robbing a Brinks armored car!

And before you get into the pat "Oh this happened when Obama was 6", that dog don't hunt.

On September 11, 2001, a day that will forever burned into our memories, The NY Times published a story about the terrorist.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F02E1DE1438F932A2575AC0A9679C8B63&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=all

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''

So, add unrepentant to the deal.

Ayers went on to say:

So, would Mr. Ayers do it all again, he is asked? ''I don't want to discount the possibility,'' he said.

So here is a guy who committed treason, and admits he is still up for it!

The only reason this terrorist thug is still breathing, is because his dad was LOADED, and the FBI made some mistakes, so the cases were thrown out on technicalities.

Ayers is quoted as saying this in his WU days:

''Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at"

Here's some nice stuff about Bernadine:

Ayers and Dohrn were there at the founding of the Weather Underground. At a 1969 “War Council” that helped launch the organization, Dohrn raised three fingers in a “fork salute” to Charles Manson, whom she proposed as a revolutionary inspiration.

She went on to joke about Manson’s victims and dubbed them the “Tate Eight” after Sharon Tate, the pregnant actress whom members of the Manson tribe stabbed in the womb with a fork. “Dig it,” said Dohrn at the time. “First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!”

Nice folks huh?

Any decent human being would run, not walk away from this sub-human filth.

But Oh no, Barack Obama worked closely with him at the Woods fund.

Dr Stanley Kurtz Senior Fellow from the Ethics and Public Policy Center, has a whole file on Obama, Ayers, and the thug connections.

http://www.eppc.org/scholars/scholarID.81,type.1/pub_list.asp

Obama, BTW, launched his political career in Bill Ayers' living room!

These people are close friends. Michelle worked with Dohrn, even before she married Obama.

Here's a recent photo of Ayers stomping on a US Flag.

http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/192591.php

What's more, some folks have compared Ayers' writings to Obama's first book: "Dreams From My Father", and conclude that the author may very well have really been Ayers.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/10/who_wrote_dreams_from_my_fathe_1.html

The bottom line is this. There is no difference between Ayers and Dohrn, Timothy McVey, or Osama Bin Laden. Just the number of people they killed.

Governor Palin was very right to criticize Obama for hanging around with such anti-American filth.

It sounds like you may need another source for at least some of your news. Matt Drudge is the best, of course, but all he does is link to other stories. So, if he links to an MSM story, you'll get a MSM kinda liberal slant.

Most of what has been written since she was picked to run with McCain is an out and out lie.Period, end of story.

Again, I have followed this woman for years, and was part of the draft Sarah movement back in 2007, before the primaries even started!

Funny thing, she was getting national media attention back then too, and it was all glowing. She was constantly named as a model of how to govern!

That all changed when she ran up against the messiah. The attacks dogs came out, and are STILL out.

The McCain campaign was a joke, and frankly, Governor Palin made some serious mistakes, that she readily admits. She had never been in a national campaign, and had never run with someone else.

She trusted the crew McCain put together knew what they were doing. They did not. Instead of telling McCain right off the bat that she would want a lot of control herself, she trusted those guys. Mistake.

All I know, as someone who follows her, if you are ONLY getting news from where you mentioned, pretty much everything you know about Palin is wrong.

I doubt I will change your mind about her. That's not purpose anyway. My purpose was to challenge you on outrageous comments you made.

For me, a lifelong political junkie, and a hard core conservative, I can tell you NO ONE has excited me more than Governor Palin. I'm a Ronald Reagan conservative, and even the Great One himself never got me as fired up as Palin.

She is one of us, not some fat cat politician. She still lives middle class. She walks the walk.

And she got to where she is on her own.

I appreciate the chance for the back and forth. But it is mine, and about 60 million more's opinion, that Governor Palin is THE choice for 2012.

Besides the smaller groups, Governor Palin has her own Facebook page (that really is her's) that has over a half a million members.

Team Sarah, a very active group, has almost 67,000 members, double since the start of the year.

There are many more groups out there. These folks will be there for 2010 when she runs for re-election, and 2012 when she runs for POTUS.

Her grass roots level support will rival anything Obama had. She is the only other candidate that will be able to raise the one billion dollars it will take 4 years from now to be competitive.

Anyhow, if you don't like her in the news, be prepared to not watch the news. Sarah is America's Governor, and will be America's President, very soon.

PajamaP: Yes it's true you welcome the opinions of others but loathe to accept FACTS.

First, please just ADMIT that you are a LiEberal. Nothing wrong with truth ya know.

You gave yourself away when you stated that 'you were appalled when Palin said BO was pallin' around with terrorists'

You blew your cover.

That's OK to be a lieberal but you must face FACTS.

FACT is BO Hussein WAS indeed pallin around with terrorists. See my earlier posts on that subject.

Further,

FACT is BO Hussein IS still pallin' around with terrorists.

FACT is BO Hussein is a Muslim.

MORE FACTS for you and lib kooks to digest.

During the U.S presidential campaign, BO’s handlers vigourously pointed out his Christian faith whenever the misconception arose he may be Muslim ...

Once elected, however, he personally INSISTED on his middle name being spoken at his swearing-in ceremony.

So, Baraq Hussein mohammed 0bama has muslim roots - really?

"I have Muslim members of my family. I have lived in Muslim countries," BO said, according to a White House transcript. "My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy."

The Al Arabiya interview, directed squarely at Muslims around the world, revived a vision of personal, symbolic international change that was in the air when BO - with his far-flung family members, and complicated story - launched his campaign

He didn't swear on a Bible on his do-over for a reason. His first phone call as President was to the Palestinian President for a reason, and his first TV appearance was on Al-Arabiya for a reason.

Every member of his family is a non-American- except him?? How is that possible? They are all muslims except for him?? What are the odds?

Wasn’t he quoted a few years back saying something to the effect of “If the winds of opinion begin to blow against my Muslim brothers, I will stand with them.”?

What a surprise...NOT...

Short video of BO talking about his muslim faith.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMUgNg7aD8M
YOU ARE A muzzie hussein!

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/07/obama-verbal-slip-fuels-his-critics/

“The McCain campaign has never suggested you have Muslim connections,” said Mr. Stephanopoulos, during the interview with Mr.Obama.

The big O will go down in history all right, but not for being the first black President.

Remember, his name is ‘Hussein’; His father is Muslim, thereby, he is muslim. Now, this is strictly by birth, but, you cannot go to Indonesian Islamic school and not have that impact you.

He joined Jeremiah Wrights radical church strictly for political gain and that is it. Right, elections have consequences, and here lies the beginning of ‘Jimmuh Cartah’ presidency, Part II, with a Q’uran twist. Just great! I hope you liberal kooks are happy now.

If it quacks like a Muslim duck...

We are living in perilous times indeed. Message: the Zero is a Muslim. AND he is still pallin around with Muslim terrorists.

Sarah 2012

Sarah Palin is a terrorist.

sup?

Pajama Pundit, I am beginning to like you. I thought after reading your article that you were an arrogant, ill-informed journalist trying to get some exposure by mentioning Governor Palin's name. It is clear that I was mistaken and that you have reasonable views. I would encourage you to be more careful about whose blogs you use in the future.

Being Muslim does not mean you are evil or want to destroy America. Mohammad Ali was Muslim, Malcolm X was Muslim. Cat Stevens was Muslim. There are at least two currently serving members of Congress that are Muslim.

Anonymous -

FACT - Obama is not a Muslim
FACT - Since you continue to insinuate otherwise and post readily debunked "information" to support your claim, I can only assume that you are reading the same part of the newspaper as Palin- the funnies.

Finally, man or woman up and get a screen name/handle if you are going to continue to post so I don't get you confused with the other Anons when I tear your arguments apart.

Gary,

Sarah Palin is not "one of us". She's nothing like me - other than being a woman.

I for one don't collect a per diem to the tune of thousands of dollars for my job.

I don't hunt wolves from helicopters.

I wouldn't want to cut funding to rape victims or make them pay for their own rape kits.

I wouldn't force a woman (or a teenager) to carry a pregnancy to term against her will.

I haven't spent thousands of dollars on a wardrobe for a campaign while trying to portray myself as "a regular hockey mom".

I read the newspaper.

I didn't use my influence to try to get my sister's ex-husband fired from his job.

I can't see Russia from my House.

I can name one way McCain is a reformer.

I can name a Supreme Court case I disagree with other than Roe v. Wade.

I can end sentences with words other than also and make complete sentences and thoughts during an interview.

And I can face the reality that I'm never going to be a presidential contender.

DemAwife:

You have provided NO proof that BO is not a Muslim. ZERO!

I have - check the links given and what HE himself said.

Are you calling your Messiah BO a liar now? LOL

OK call BO a liar but my God, just take any Muslim Leader’s word for it!
Obama HUSSEIN IS A MUSLIM!!!!

FARRAKKON PROCLAIMED TO HIS MASSES, “OBAMA IS OUR NEW MESSIAH!!” That confirms BO is a MUSLIM!
QUADDAFFI has stated many times to the Masses that OBAMA IS a MUSLIM and the Coming of their Messiah!! TRUST QUADDAFFI on this one, Quaddaffi is NOT going to Lie about an INFIDEL just like FARRAKKON ISN’T going to LIE about an INFIDEL!!
OBAMA HUSSEIN HAS PROVEN THAT HE IS COMPULSIVE AND SERIAL LIAR TIME AND TIME AGAIN!! CASE CLOSED!!

_______

Vast, Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.

Mohammad Ali became a Muslim to avoid the draft - duh.

MalcolmX converted to Islam for his own agenda - some say BO is his secret son. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn227/Polarik/obama_x-1.gif

IF BO would release his COLB..then we would all know!!

Malcolm-X lawyer claims Black radical,Saudi Advisor, Kalid Al-Mansour, helped finance BO.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIVO8MZYXo8

Anyone who has studied the basics of the black power movement know who Malcolm X is. Yes BO is inspired by him but mum is the word when around white folk.

Cat Stevens is still on drugs and barred from entering the United States.
Clowns like Ayers and al-Mansour never change. They’re incapable of it. They spout the same nonsense they were spouting forty years ago. Their philosophy is a failure. Yet they still cling to it.Black fascists and racists, Marxists who bomb America: they’re all just other ethnic groups to be cogs in the Daley machine. Ci cago-ize America!

Ayers' book "Prairie Fire" was dedicated to the assassin Sirhan Sirhan - killer of Robert Kennedy.

FYI Al-Mansour is an outspoken hater of the United States, Israel, and white people generally.

BO appears to be bought and paid for by number of Islamists, black nationalists, and domestic terrorists.

DemaWife:

What's the point of regurgitating what Tina Fey said? This is a blog, NOT SNL!!

Suffering from Venus envy are you? You can NEVER be Sarah Palin OR Tina Fey for that matter.

Gov Palin NEVER spent 1000's of dollars on her wardrobe. The RNC did.

Nor did she force her daughter to have the baby against her will. Bristol was just recently interviewed and she made it clear ( except to the insane) that it was HER decision to have the baby.

The rest of your post is just pure, insane drivel without any basis or foundation.

Pssst....your Messiah BO's poll numbers are tanking!!

Sarah 2012

Timothy McVeigh was not a Muslim.
Lee Harvey Oswald was not a Muslim.
The Members of the Irish Republican Army were not Muslim.

Even The Weather Underground, the group associated with Bill Ayers was not Muslim. They drew their inspiration from the Black Panthers. They were a Marxist type group.

No, not all terrorists are Muslim.

Being a Muslim would not have prevented Mohammad Ali from being drafted. There are many Muslims who served in the US armed forces in Vietnam and who are currently serving tours of duty in Iraq. Religion has no basis on military service. You can even be a Wiccan and serve in the military.

Listen up Vast, stop going off on a tangent.

I never said Ayers was a Muslim. I said BO HUSSEIN is a friggin Muslim!!!
Get it? LISTEN his own words! Links already given.

DemoWife & Vast

You liberals are so pathetic it’s laughable!!! What’s your beef? Your guy won! Aren’t you proud? Look at how the stock market has “changed” since he was elected! Oh, that’s right it went DOWN! Look at how his approval rating has “changed”. Oh, that’s right, it went DOWN! Look at how his wonderful picks for his cabinet from the elite and intellectual community has “changed” the confidence of the American people. Oh, that’s right, it went DOWN! You are so desperate to deflect attention from your savior, you have to MAKE UP a pack of lies about Governor Palin….and you’re so stupid, you think it will work! Good luck with that!

You said all terrorists were Muslim... At least I think it was you, since you wont use a screen name to differentiate you from the other Annoys its hard to tell. Bill Ayers is a Terrorist... there for by your argument Bill Ayers must be a Muslim. That's the simple equation that comes from the logic of your argument.

There's so much arrogance, ignorance and idiocy coming from this Team Sarah that I don't even know where to start.

This is why no one will ever take her serious. Nor should they. She belongs in Wasyphilis, AK

Vast, you need to sharpen your reading and comprehension skills - otherwise you are simply wasting my time.

READ with your eyes WIDE open. I said 'not ALL Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims' in the world today.

Bill Ayers ( buddy of BO Hussein) is a DOMESTIC terrorist.

He must have learnt the tricks of the trade from BO Hussein. But unlike Muslim terrorists, Ayers is not blowing up 3000 innocent people today.

""In a moment that will live in infamy, President Barack Hussein Obama fostered upon America a gigantic Socialist Stimulus Bill that will plunge America deeply into the failed Euro-socialist psychosis. "" Francis Rice - a black.

Copied from your post...

"Vast, Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims."

The words "in the world today" do not appear anywhere in your post nor is it implied.

Even if it was... then how about the group known as FARC. That is a terrorist group in Columbia today that is not Muslim. They are Communist, and supported by Venezuela.

How could Bill Ayers have learned his Terrorist was from Barrack Obama? Obama wasn't an adult at the time.

And back to the Oath issue... there is nothing in the constitution that requires the oath be taken on a bible. I didn't use a bible when I took my oath for the Air Force, along with about 30 other Iowans at a MEPS station.

Anonymous:

First of all, I sure to God hope that you aren't in any position that would require logic because you are seriously lacking in that department.

Nowhere in the links you posted - nor in any other credible source that I've found - has there been any proof given that President Obama is a Muslim. There's only loose insinuations and snippets taken out of context. McCain even corrected "crazy McCain rally lady" from thinking he was an 'Arab' and had never put forth that he was a Muslim. You and your fellow wingnuts are the ones spreading that lie.

All terrorists are Muslim?? Give me an f'in break! DOMESTIC terrorists as previously listed are terrorists nonetheless. Vast needs no lessons in reading comprehension. You, my dear friend Anon, need a lesson in history as well as civility.

As far as my supposed Venus complex -- way to launch the personal attacks. I am here crying my eyes out because you said I'll NEVER be Sarah Palin. Wah wah wah... I am glad that I'll never be her because she's NOTHING that I would wish to aspire to. And pardon me, but you certainly presume to know much about me without ever making my acquaintance. I could be Tina Fey's twin sister for all you know ;)

Barack Obama is not my savior - he's my President. And I for one believe he's entitled to more time than a month before people start labeling him a failure - particularly for the mess he inherited from the previous administration. Its obvious that you are just bitter and clinging to your guns and your religion...and I'm not going to change your mind. So I'll just let you keep on, clinging on :)

(Cue the wingnuttery and personal attacks in 5, 4, 3, 2....)

I say Obama is a failure, and it didn't even take a month in office to figure it out. He was a total disaster on the campaign trail. If peolpe would have stopped worshiping him like a rock star long enough to listen to his outrageous promises, you would have already known he is a fraud. Plus WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!!!! You have not seen the last of this, I have read the enlisted men will rise up in court and challenge this usurper commander in cheet. They will have standing, since their life is on the line.

Anonymous:

I live with an Air Force Officer who - along with a number of his friends - actually VOTED for Obama.

I highly doubt the validity of your claims, though I am pleased you've taken to reading as
opposed to getting an IV of Fox News...

And HERE are a FEW LINKS to the BIRTH CERTIFICATE for the UMPTEENTH TIME! (taking my capitalization cue from you, Anon) Let's test your READING COMPREHENSION.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/2008/06/13/bobirthcertificate.jpg

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthcertificate.asp

Does that do it for ya??

"..total disaster on the campaign trail..."

HA! And that is coming from a Sarah Palin supporter?

I must be in an alternate universe...

It sounds like your advocating a military take over of the government and or Civil War.

Speaking of Commander in Cheat... Bush did a bang up job.

Miss a day and you miss a lot around here...

By the way, Sarah Palin and her husband wants Alaska to secede from the Union.

Suck on that Team Sarah.

Vast, BO wasn't an adult at that time? Don't parrot BO's lies here.

BO often hung out at Ayers home.

Vast:

At THAT time very little was know of Muslims and Mohammad Ali converted to Islam to get away from the draft.

FARC is not going round the world blowing up people in the name of some freak god.

Oh Anonymous -- BO didn't often hang out at Ayers home. They were acquaintances. And when Ayers was part of the Weather Underground, Obama was 6. Now - according to you he was both being educated in a terrorist training camp in Indonesia AND in Bill Ayers living room helping to make pipe bombs? Wow - I had no idea.

I don't like to call people names, but I do call it like I see it - and you are acting like a full fledged idiot. Prove me wrong and say something credible for a change

DemoWife: FYI A simple question can never be construed as a personal attack - however you stating " First of all, I sure to God hope that you aren't in any position that would require logic because you are seriously lacking in that department." IS A PERSONAL ATTACK. Now, practice what you preach and IF you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, get the hell out of here.

Now back to the issue - you claim " Nowhere in the links you posted - nor in any other credible source that I've found - has there been any proof given that President Obama is a Muslim."

Sit up and LISTEN TO YOUR MESSIAH BO's OWN WORDS will you???

Short video of BO talking about his muslim faith.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMUgNg7aD8M
YOU ARE A muzzie hussein!

As for McCain ( he is not a Muslim) so you need to LISTEN to what BO's MUSLUM buddies are saying about him.

Vast parrots BO's lies claiming that BO was not an adult at the time Ayers was active in his terrorist activities when it is common knowledge that BO started his political career in Ayers living room.

Meanwhile, DemoWife parrots BO's own words " Its obvious that you are just bitter and clinging to your guns and your religion..."

ROTFLMAO. Zombies have NO original thoughts of their own and what is obvious is that they DO regard BO as their Messiah.

Pssst....His poll numbers are tanking!!!

While most of you are keeping some kind of civility in your dialogue, I am supremely discouraged by the religious intolerance and personal attacks. This thread is now closed.
