Why am I not surprised that this, the shadiest-of-shady men in Washington, is standing by two men who have lied.
One, Cheney's former chief-of-staff Lewis "Scooter" Libby, has been convicted of perjury. The other, the Attorney General of the United States Alberto "Al" Gonzales, has been caught telling a lie (or several lies) while giving testimony to Congress.
So, why am I not surprised that "Trigger-Finger-Dick" is standing by these guys?
It's simple: He is pure evil.
- OR -
He is protecting himself and the President from implicating themselves in some of the bad stuff that goes on in the White House.
I think it's a little bit of both.
Honestly though - in the case of Alberto Gonzales - how long can the Bush Administration stand by this guy? You know that it's a bad scene when other Republican senators are calling Gonzo a "liar" and telling him, "I don't trust you."
I'm just waiting for the late Friday announcement that Alberto Gonzales is getting the proverbial axe. It's just not right to have a liar heading up the Department of Justice. That's somewhat of an oxymoron. Insert joke here.
