Caught In The Webb

So, I was watching my weekly does of Meet The Press yesterday morning when I saw this great exchange between senators Jim Webb (D-Va) and Lindsey Graham (R-Sc):

Simply awesome.

The Democrats need to "sack-up" and follow Webb's lead. Period.

When it comes to issues like the war in Iraq, there should be no tip-toeing around the Republicans. The last time that I checked, the Democratic party was still the modern anti-war party. So ACT LIKE IT. ACT LIKE JIM WEBB.

Webb's money quote:

All of the things that people like myself were predicting would happen if we went into Iraq are exactly the sort of things that the president and the small group of people who have sort of rallied around him are saying will happen if we leave. We were saying that Iran would be empowered. We were saying that international terrorism would be empowered. We were saying the reputation of the United States would be diminished around the world and we were saying the region would become more unstable.
Indeed.

There is absolutely NO GOOD REASON why the Democrats (and the anti-war Republicans) do not stand up to the president on this issue. There is too much political posturing going on - we need RESULTS. Out TROOPS need RESULTS. Our representatives in Washington, D.C. need to stop worrying about the special interests who finance their campaigns, and do what it right. End. This. War.

Okay, I'm stepping off of my soapbox for today.
