Defining Moment

Well, this is it. I'm going out on a limb here. I'm exposing myself to the wonders of the World Wide Web. I've started my own political blog. Hooray!

I've been posting my own hodge-podge blog for nearly two years now - and I've grown increasingly political in my ranting and raving recently. This brought me to the conclusion that, to properly air my political diatribe, I should devote an entire blog to the subject. This way, my friends and family who read my "arbitrary" drivel will not be completely bored with political mumbo-jumbo.

To begin with, I'd like to give you an idea of my political ideology. Simply put, I view myself as a centrist. I basically adopt a Libertarian world view. I believe that my purely political principles are based on TRUE conservative ideals: small federal government, individual liberties, lower taxation, strong domestic policies, no nation-building foreign policies, etc. HOWEVER, I think that I fall fairly left-of-center when it comes to social issues such as gay rights and women's reproductive rights
.

In my punditry contained herein - I promise to give you the straight dope. No sugar coating here. My language will not always be journalistically pretty, and I occasionally make up a word or two (journalistically, for example). What I aim to do is air my political dirty-laundry - and hope to incite some conversation with fellow Internet-nerds like myself.

I guess what it all comes down to is this: I'm always up for a spirited (yet civil) debate. I have my opinions, but I am always open to hearing someone else's point-of-view. Please feel free to comment, criticize and maybe once in a while send some praise my way.

Stay tuned....

This space is designed for thoughtful commentary on politics and media (and whatever else comes to mind). The Pajama Pundit welcomes people from all political stripes to voice opinions freely and without fear of mean-spirited attacks. He does however expect intelligent discussion -- and some understanding of proper grammar usage.

For a more detailed look at commenting, please review our Comment Policy.

Please refrain from personal attacks on authors or other users. Back up your argument with documentation (links to elsewhere on the web). This is a big sandbox -- so please play nicely with one another.

NOTE: For all of the HTML nerds out there (like me), anchor, strong (bold), em (italic) and blockquote tags work within the comment form.
